Just wow.

This week has blown my socks off.

It started with a really amazing writeup on my Sailor Moon series over at The Daily Dot. The following day, Hello Giggles and Madmoizelle (French) also featured the series.

The past few days have been a wonderful whirlwind of new readers and people excited about my cakes, and honestly it got me a little emotional more than once. I started this blog primarily as a way to keep my skills fresh, and in less than a year it’s grown to be quite a bit more for me. Thank you all so much for your messages, e-mails, reblogs, likes, shares, etc. I am seriously overwhelmed by your kindness.

While it’s a small gesture of thanks in comparison, I’m holding a giveaway over on Tumblr to thank you all. I’ll be giving away 3 prizes consisting of some of my favorite pastry supplies, so take a look!

Congratulations, Kat! This is really amazing news, looks like your going solo from the cake business was the best thing to happen with your baking. Can’t wait to see what amazing sweets the rest of this year brings! Happy Lunar New Year!

Thank you, Jen! I do know that this blog has panned out to be some of the most fun I’ve ever had doing pastry, and I loved the work to start with! I can’t wait to see your new art in the new year too!

Katharina your cakes are simply amazing! I’ve never seen any with such beautiful detail. Plus you seem to take flavours into account and not just decoration. (I tend to find with cakes people focus on one or the other in most cases.) I saw your Sailor Moon series on Hello Giggles and thought WOW! Being a Sailor Moon fan and a cake fan I was blown away. So now I am following your posts and can’t wait to see what creations you come up with ^_^

Thank you so much! I’m definitely kind of obsessive about flavors, so I’m so glad you got that impression! Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy the things I have planned in coming months!
